Skateboard 10

Sitting here staring at the computer screen..Cannot focus.  Yesterday sucked.  I lost my grandpa in January and my grandma (My Best Friend) in February this year and yesterday my grandpa  was taken by ambulance to the hospital at 5am. How much can one person take?  After a very long day the docs decided to keep him for observation and I should be able to bring him home today.  A reality check to say the least..When the phone rings, in that one moment, your whole life becomes crystal clear and your priorities right on track.

Ahhh..Watching the little homies first day on skateboards..Absolute awesomeness!! The frustration, the perseverance and the pure joy when they coasted their first 10 feet! They are already asking to hit the skatepark..Be still my heart.  They informed me they must have new sneakers and wear their Tony Hawk shirts while they skate too.  Total happiness!

Pushing forward with http://www.crash-sports.com/.  The financial burden has become pretty steep but I have total faith I can make it happen if I just keep pushing. Like I told K & S their first frustrating ten minutes on their skateboards-"Nobody is ever perfect the first time..Everybody needs patience and practice.  Only you can make it happen."

So, as CRASH-sports.com is still a work in progress and you have to pay the bills and eat, I have a job interview tomorrow.  I sent out resumes just to test the waters and got several hits.  The guy says he's very interested but I am fairly certain my shock of bright red bangs and way of dress may cause him to drop a litter of kittens at first glance!! HA! Maybe I am wrong but in this part of the world I think I may be a little much!

As the re-work of CRASH-sports.com is underway I get more stoked everyday! It is truly becoming a dream come true.  I am learning so many things as I go and there are days where I am just not feeling it but then I remember why I am doing it and it all makes sense again.  I had this plan in the beginning and I have gotten turned  on my head and it's great!!

I have been so amped up about CRASH-sport.com and yesterday I got kicked in the gut.Thanks to all who have checked it out.  Found out it looks generic and a waste of time.  So not where I want to be or who I am.  Re-work is in progress.

On a more pleasant note..A friend request on Facebook.  Manny Salaazar..A filmmaker, who with friend Dan Abadi, have a righteous website www.theskateclick.com "Life of Pro Skateboarders, Filmers, Friends and up and coming Skaters"...All I can say is AMAZING!  These guys are pure of heart..Doing it for real.  THESKATECLICK also supports Street League and I totally dig that.  I am not sure how this happened but super fortunate for me.  After the big crash and burn yesterday this is exactly what I needed to pick myself up and get moving again.

Let's talk about Rob Dyrdek and last night..Justin Bieber stopped by to skate the Street League training facility..Bieber threw down a frontside 180. Awesome..Who knew the 16 year old sugar sweet pop star could skate?? I love this..I love that Dyrdek invited him in, I love that he landed his frontside 180 in front of not only Dyrdek but also Terry Kennedy & Greg Lutzka, I love that pure joy in his face, I love that Dyrdek posted a twitvid and posted it on facebook. What I do not love is all the prejudice, homophobic, hater a**holes that commented and dissed Bieber & Dyrdek all night long..I am super disgusted at how many homosexual slurs and references were used last night..Are you guys for real? We are talking about a 16 year old kid who likes to sing and likes to skate..We are talking about respecting or not respecting someone (who news flash- most of us don't know in our "real lives") because of who he skates with..Not to mention, skaters have been picked on & singled out, discriminated against, told they were losers and punks FOREVER...And now those very people are hating on a 16 year old & a dude trying to make some BIG changes in the skateboard world and using some extremely offensive language and references in the process..Be proud dudes..Some of you may have just proved the masses right.

There is not enough coffee this morning! Trying to kick it into overdrive to get all the merch loaded onto CRASH-Sports.com. That has definitely been the most time consuming part of this adventure. Thanks to all who have taken a look-Leave me some feedback! What you like, what you don't like, what's missing..I definitely want to hear it all!

So, starting this business has been a real time of personal reflection for me..I have discovered a few things about myself but the biggest realization is that I am such a people pleaser that I have no real idea who I am or what really matters to me..The core of my being is solid but outside of that..I have spent a lot of time thinking I had to be this or that, dress a certain way, have certain interests. Sorry, but screw it..I am who I am and from now on that is just how it is. If you don't like my clothes, or my hair or my tattoos or the way I talk or live my life..I hope this doesn't turn my world upside down and the people in my life are open minded -But for sure I gotta live life to the fullest...

Just want to give a little shout out to my family..Dan, Kaeld & Sebastian-The core part of me is because of you guys. I am so lucky to have my best friend to spend the rest of my life with. And K & S-You guys rock!! You are the coolest little people on the planet and I am so proud of you! I love you very much and without your love, patience & support D, CRASH-Sports.com may have never existed.

Another beautiful day..I just ordered my boys first skateboards..I am not sure if the 3 of us could be more pumped. Everyone keeps asking me if I made them..Oddly enough, kind of a sign if you ask me, right about the time CRASH-Sports.com was being created the homies asked for skateboards! Destiny calling!! Cannot wait to see them skate...
